Maria Jolina Perez Magdangal-Escueta (Tagalog: [dʒɔˈlinɐ mɐgˈdaŋɐl ɛsˈkwɛtɐ]; born November 6, 1978  is a Filipina singer, actress, television presenter, and entrepreneur. She is referred in the Philippines as the Queen of Pinoy Popular Culture (or simply the Pop Icon) and is often regarded as one of the most successful multimedia artists in Philippine entertainment, through various television, music and film outlets.  Her self-titled album Jolina (1999) and all-revival-songs On Memory Lane (2000) are among the best-selling albums of all time in the Philippines.  She is one of four singers to have two or more albums in the 20 best-selling albums in the Philippines (7x platinum and 6x platinum PARI certification).  She was also inducted as the Official Spokesperson by the Office of the President as well as National Youth Commission for her positive and clean image.

Magdangal made her start in children's sketch comedy Ang TV  (1992) and transitioned to teen romance program Gimik  (1996), which were both hit shows in their era. Dubbed as the “Queen of the 90s” she became a lead or starrer actress in the 1990s to early 2000s through ASAP (1995), Labs Kita... Okey Ka Lang?  (1998), Richard Loves Lucy (1999), Hey Babe!  (1999), Labs Ko Si Babe  (1999), Tunay na Tunay: Gets Mo? Gets Ko!  (2000), Arriba, Arriba!  (2000), Kung Ikaw Ay Isang Panaginip (2002) and Narito Ang Puso Ko  (2003). Two of her films earned her the citation "Princess of Philippine Movies"  by the Box Office Entertainment Awards. She was appointed as a talk show/public affairs host in Unang Hirit starting in 2005.  She also was inducted as a main host for major talent search shows StarStruck  (2003) and Pinoy Idol  (2008). Her transition to more adult characters came in I Luv NY (2006), Ouija  (2007), and Adik Sa'Yo (2009), and FlordeLiza  (2015). She has been a host of the long-running morning talk show Magandang Buhay since 2016 to present.

For her outstanding achievements in the entertainment and other fields, she was awarded the Golden Artist Award by the Filipino Academy of Movie Arts and Sciences Awards (FAMAS) in 2007.  Her other notable awards include Most Popular Singer and Entertainer of the Year by the Box Office Entertainment Awards,  Favorite Female Artist by the MTV Pilipinas Music Awards,  Female Recording Artist by the PMPC Star Awards for Music,  as well as an acting nomination from 2003 Asian Television Awards for her portrayal as an indigenous lawyer for Magpakailanman.  Both CNN Philippines and The Filipino Channel included Magdangal among the country's most popular showbiz personalities.
